Maurice S. Kane, Jr. is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Riverside Office and primarily works with governmental entities on a variety of legal issues. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Kane has represented private individuals and corporations, including trucking companies and other businesses. Clients invest not only time and money in legal representation and Maurice endeavors to treat each case if it is his own.

A member of the State Bar of California since 1987, Mr. Kane has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court (Central District of California)and the United States Court of Appeals (Ninth Circuit). During his time in practice, he has tried jury and bench cases in the Superior Courts of the Counties of Kings, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Ventura, and has been a member of bar associations, principally, Los Angeles Bar Association, Eastern Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, and San Bernardino County Bar Association. He has served as a Temporary Judge in Los Angeles County Superior Court in small claims, landlord/tenant, and traffic matters and in Attorney-Client Fee Arbitrations for the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Mr. Kane graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Southern California in 1983 and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1986, and taught Employment Law briefly at the University of La Verne, College of Law.

Mr. Kane enjoys time spent with family , participating in municipal commissions, charitable endeavors and nonprofit organizations, including serving as President of the Friends of the Covina Public Library Board of Directors and his book club, Reading Becomes Eclectic. He established an annual college/trade school scholarship program for graduating high school students , which he oversees in selection. His extracurricular passions include sketching, poetry, backgammon, hiking, table tennis, cooking Louisiana Creole cuisine, the Dallas Cowboys, rooting for USC in all matters, attending comic book and science fiction conventions, astronomy, square dancing, and involvement in his local parish as a lector and usher.
