Szu Pei Lu-Yang is an Senior Associate at Graves & King, LLP in Riverside, CA.  She represents the firm in the defense of public entities as well as tort and environmental litigation matters, such as public entity liability, CEQA litigation, personal injury, and commercial business matters. Mrs. Lu-Yang has been with Graves & King LLP since 2005.  Prior to Graves & King, Mrs. Lu-Yang was a partner in a boutique accounting firm in 2003 preparing corporate and individual tax returns.

In addition to practicing law, Mrs. Lu-Yang is an elected official sitting on the Rowland Water District Board of Directors as the Director for Division 5.  As a Board Member, Mrs. Lu-Yang is intimately involved in District matters, ranging from approving the budget to water issues facing the District.   Mrs. Lu-Yang also sits on the Board of Directors and Executive Board of the Regional Chamber of Commerce, San Gabriel Valley.  As a member of the Executive Board (President Elect in 2010 and President in 2011), she works closely with staff to provide its members with excellent business support.

Mrs. Lu-Yang received her Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where she majored in Political Science and minored in Business Economics.  She served as the Secretary General of the Model United Nations Program in her senior year. Mrs. Lu-Yang graduated Cum Laude and with Honors from the UCLA Honors Program. She was also a research assistant in the Political Science Department for four years focusing on the Middle East conflict. 

Mrs. Lu-Yang received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, where she was a member of Loyola’s Entertainment Law Review.   She served as a student extern with the Honorable Ernest M. Robles of the United States Bankruptcy Court in 2001.  She also participated as a volunteer site supervisor with the Internal Revenue Service Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA, 2002-2003)
